King Khan Invades The Big Apple.
Chris (our NY Spartan) picked up Zack at JFK Airport. He looked like he got hit by a bus!! The flight was long and the big guy was starving so we went to Gino's...the best Italian place in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. He had a penne vodka with extra chicken and a Caesar salad to go with it.
The following day we hit one of Chris's accounts, Eva's, for breakfast. After that Zack said he needed to find some jeans because he couldn't get any in the UK...you know how the Europeans like their jeans...TIGHT! So we went to 34th Street in New York and hit Dr. Jay's and Macy's. He finally found two pairs of Sean John jeans that fit.
It was then off to the Empire State Building. A group of the workers from the building surrounded him in the street. It was reminiscent of the scene from the movie when the monster lay in the street surrounded by spectators. We shot some awesome footage of him posing with them. A little old couple was there on their honeymoon and they were taking pictures with Zack as well. The old woman was grabbing his arms and everything...hilarious!
When we walked by 34th there was an NYPD car sitting there so we asked the cop if we could snap a picture with Zack and the car. In typical NYC style, the cop jokingly said "I won't lie, if that big bastard came at me I would just shoot him!" Can't blame him. Next, it was feeding time, so we took him to Jack Dempsey's Pub for a steak. He said it reminded him of the pubs back in England so he got a kick out of that...plus the steak was awesome.
It was then off to see the boys at Natural Body in Queens. We snapped some photos and ordered food and basically just hung out for a while. We couldn't stay long because we had to shoot out to Long Island to get some footage of Zack training at Bev Francis World Gym in Syosset. He busted out a leg workout and then we headed home stopping to eat at a Mediterranean Restaurant in Chris's hood! He drove him around and showed him the old mobster homes and explained to him the history of his neighborhood. Zack seemed to get a kick out of that but then he started asking Chris too many questions so he had to end the night. Certain things have to be kept quiet, ya know?
The next day we got up early and headed to Gold's Gym on Strickland Ave in Brooklyn for a quick back workout. We then hit Nature's Grill for some food and shot up to Connecticut where we had an appearance at Fulton Fitness for Supplements Unlimited. The turnout was solid and he posed for a lot of pictures with kids and the fans who came down. Thanks to Jimmy for supporting our brand and to Robert for letting us have it at his place. After it was over Jimmy treated us to dinner at a Turkish restaurant in Stratford before we made the three-hour trip to Cape Cod where Zack had two appearances the next day.
The first appearance was at Cape Cod Nutrition in Hyannis, Massachusetts. The owner, James, is a natural bodybuilder himself who runs his own show. They had Zack's video playing while the people came in and received autographed pictures from Zack. James also showed Zack the posing room he had built in his basement. I took some SICK footage of Zack posing! You can see this at the end of the NY video below. It was awesome because the basement looked like a dungeon with mirrors.
After that appearance we took the 45 minute ride to James' other Cape Cod Nutrition store located in Plymouth, Massachusetts. This is where we had our largest turnout because many of the college kids were home for Thanksgiving vacation. Zack signed a ton of pictures. Following our stay there, we made the four-hour trip back to Brooklyn where we stopped in to the Vegas Diner for one last meal!! It was around 1am so the complete whack-a-doos were still in the clubs, but the people that were in the diner were staring at Zack like he was from another planet. The waitress was about 55 years old and she would not stop touching Zack's arms. After that mess was over we dropped Zack off at his hotel as he had an early flight to Florida to catch in the morning. Check out the New York video summarizing this invasion of Zack 'King' Khan.
