Zack Tour Header

Zack Khan U.S TourZack flew from his hometown of Sheffield, England to Houston, Texas where he met up with Nutrex Spartans Cody Caywood (Texas) and Brian Arnedo (California). First stop was Gold’s Gym, Houston for a little back work out. When asked during training what kind of music he likes to train to, Zack replied “Opera” and then laughed. “Nah...R&B shit, gangsta rap...2Pac, Biggie”. No iPod required. At his own gym (The Ironworks Gym) in Sheffield he can blast what ever he wants. His gym in the U.K. has also served as a backdrop for some of the photo shoots used in Nutrex’s UNDERGROUND ads. It’s very UNDERGROUND with hardcore old school weights, rusted equipment, ripped seat cushions and graffiti painted all over the walls. We asked Zack about the story behind the graffiti. “I was approached by some young kids who wanted to use my gym but had no money” said Zack. "So I asked them what they do and they said they are graffiti artists. So I said paint my gym and you can train here for free."

After the workout we asked Zack a few questions:

Nutrex: So how does it feel to finally get your pro card?

Zack: It feels awesome. Unreal. It’s about time I got my first place after getting all those seconds. I’m ready for the pro circuit now, so next year watch the stage. You’re gonna see a bigger, meaner, leaner Zack. Especially now with Nutrex in my corner helping me out on the supplementation side. I’m only gonna bring in the best Zack Khan possible in 2010.

Nutrex: Since signing with Nutrex and using their supplements, do you think this will help you take it to a new level?

Zack: When reading about the products they say they will give you an awesome pump. And I have to say with like HEMO-RAGE and Niox basically it’s unbelievable. The pump I’m getting is like my skin’s gonna burst. So it’s all good. And like I said with this company behind me I can only get better now.

Nutrex: How many meals do you get in a day?

Zack: Seven and one protein shake (PRO-GRAM of course).

Nutrex: Do you train in the morning or at night?

Zack: 5 pm. I like to get a couple of meals after. I feel more stronger then. In the morning I just feel tired and I feel like my joints are stiff. In the afternoon I feel like I’m more warmed up from just walking and doing stuff. I like to have my HEMO-RAGE before AND after my workout. I’ll have one HEMO-RAGE about 15 minutes after my workout. Then I'll have a PRO-GRAM 15 minutes after that. Then about 45 minutes after that I'll have a solid meal. The solid meal will be like rice, vegetables, and chicken.

Nutrex: Who did you admire as a bodybuilder growing up?

Zack: Arnold. After watching him in, "Pumping Iron," I just got hooked on the guy. I liked his personality, his charisma, and he put bodybuilding where it is.

Nutrex: How many years have you been training?

Zack: He counted on all his fingers and then said 2, haha. No...8 years bodybuilding.

Nutrex: You use to box?

Zack: Yes. I did it in school. I won a couple of local shows and stuff like that. But I got injured...a shoulder injury. And my trainer said to me you need to start building some muscle on those puny arms of yours. So I stopped boxing for several months and went to the gym. Started training and I got some decent size on me. And basically after that I was hooked. The owner of the gym told me if I compete he’ll give me a free membership. After several attempts, he convinced me. He helped me out in prepping for the show where I didn’t even diet cause I was already lean. Boxing kept me lean. He showed me how to do the poses. I got on stage and I won the show. I got a nice big trophy. I was 18. I never thought about become a pro until I started getting into the top 5 in the British. Then I just wanted to win that. Now that I have my pro card I’m just looking forward to my first pro show and what I want to do next year.

Nutrex: What do you think is your strongest body part?

Zack: Arms. The chics love the arms.

Nutrex: What do you think of the fans?

Zack: It’s interesting to compare the fans here to U.K. fans. Basically people get into bodybuilding for different reasons, whether it’s to put on some size, lose some fat or just get into shape. I tell people not to start bodybuilding to compete. Keep a full time job and do bodybuilding as a hobby and enjoy it. Then if it leads to more great. But you have to enjoy it.
